I was out to Shaniko, Oregon in
2011,
2012,
2013,
2014,
2014 and
2014.
GETTING THERE: I-84 to The Dalles. SR 197 to Maupin (there's one gas station here).
Bakeoven Road to Shaniko. SR 218 South to Antelope. Back up 218 to Shaniko.
SR 97 to Biggs Junction.
It was a gorgeous Fall day. Chilly starting out but got toasty warm by the time
we got to Boyd, Oregon. Not many more warm, clear dry bluebird days left in 2014.
First stop was at the Ghost Town of Boyd, Oregon where we did a scouting mission
last year. Here's more pictures of today's

The oldest marker I saw was dated 1881 but I'm sure there are older graves here.
This cemetery is obviously still in use... Sophia Macias died at age 12 and was
buried here last June. RIP.
These two youngsters died a couple of weeks apart in 1882. I'm guessing due to
some disease.
Can't make out the writing on the two smaller stones but it could be two more
family children.
Grave of Elizabeth Dufur, 1908. A member of the founding family of the town of
Dufur, Oregon I'm assuming.
