We did the Cascade Loop Ride out this way in 2013

Here's pictures of our 2010 ride to Paradise.

We were out to Sunrise in 2013 and twice in 2011.
The first trip report is HERE and the second is HERE.

When we got out here yesterday afternoon the area was pretty much socked in.
But Eloise arranged for today to be a gorgeous bluebird day. Thanks Ell!

Here's more pictures of the Paradise, Washington segment.

Stopped for lunch in Morton.

Here's more pictures of the Morton, Washington segment.

Got a late start Saturday so stayed over in Packwood, just a few miles from
Mount Rainier National Park.

Stayed at the Crest Trail Lodge this time. Nice place. Clean, cable TV, very
good hot breakfast including scrambled eggs! We liked the Cowlitz River Lodge
a little better but they were booked up along with everyone else this weekend.
No complaints with the Crest Trail Lodge though... we'd stay here again as a second

The Cowlitz River Lodge. Cowlitz had Direct TV. Crest Trail has cable. Both have
very good hot breakfasts. In my opinion, the one at Cowlitz is slightly better.
The breakfast area at the Crest Trail is pretty cramped although there are tables
outside to eat at (they were all full). At the Cowlitz, we had the deck overlooking
a field all to ourselves for breakfast. The Crest Trail owner was very cordial but
the Cowlitz is definitely Biker friendly.. the Cowlitz is walking distance to the
market, saloons and restaurant. The Crest Trail is a mile or more outside of town.
As I said, either motel is a fine choice... we just prefer the Cowlitz River Lodge
slightly more.

Then there was this trailer trash crew that parked themselves on the picnic
benches out front for pretty much the entire time we were there. Cropped them
out of the right side of the picture. A dozen or so, of various ages... looked
like they hitchhiked here from the Ozarks. Real dirtbags.

Want to sit out there in the evening? Sorry... noisy, ill-behaved children all
over the place. And when they finally left, what a pile of trash they left behind.

Want to sit out there and have breakfast because the tiny eating area inside is full?
Sorry... the Hatfields were once again parked out there all morning.

The only thing missing was the cardboard sign begging for money. Surprised that
the owners stood for it.

Headed out early for Sunrise a little after sunrise. Good thing we got there
early... the line at the payment booth was a mile long by the time we left.

Here's still more pictures of the Sunrise, Washington segment.

Great views at numerous turnouts in the Mount Rainier National Park. And lots of
colorful weeds.

Here's more pictures of Mount Rainier National Park taken along the way.

Stopped in Longmire. Here's more pictures of this ride's Longmire, Washington segment.

We've been wanting to check this place out for a while. Always long lines.
Had an "overload" cheeseburger at the Scaleburgers stand in Elbe, Washington.
Not too shabby....

Got behind a very cool 1950 Pontiac headed for the bridge to Rainier, Oregon.
