It was a nice, clear, sunny but cold day (for a change). This was a difficult hike
especially considering that we were just here two weeks ago. But even with a GPS track
we had a lot of trouble staying on the trail. This is a not-very-popular hike (which
we like).. but the down side is that there is pretty much no user maintenance so the
trail tends to disappear often. Someone did put up some flagging tape which was very
helpful but even still.... it's going to take a few more visits before we get really
confident that we won't get lost.
At about 1,000' elevation gain per mile, this little hike provides a pretty good
cardio workout. And decent navigation skills are certainly helpful, as is a GPS and a
compass.
Here's Julie back at Cedar Falls.

There's a nice clearing near the top of Cedar Mountain that is the best place to
stop for lunch. It was sunny but breezy and pretty cold up there though.
Nice view of the town of North Bonneville from up here as well as Hamilton Mountain.
Not long after our lunch stop was when our trail finding skills were challenged.
We lost the trail several times after that... once by several hundred feet of bushwhack.
Here's a nice view of Sacagawea and Papoose rock.
And from the same location, there is a nice view of Table Mountain. Once you get to
this viewpoint, the worst of the trail navigation problems are behind you.
