Information about getting to the Aldridge Trailhead.

Previous Table Mountain hikes can be found HERE.

Also information about Heartbreak Ridge and Two Chiefs.

There are still more pictures of this hike HERE.

This is the Table mountain hike that we did 4 months ago
that put Julie in the hospital.

This is a return visit so there won't be as many pictures posted this time around.

It was a nice, not overly cold day. Fairly overcast but we did see some blue sky
and even enjoyed the warmth of the sun for a while. This is the driest December on
record, which is to our liking. And we didn't see a single person all day which
was definitely to our liking!

This week the days are the shortest of the whole year so even though we set out to
do this hike fairly early, we were maybe 10 minutes from having to go to the headlamps
by the time we got back to the trailhead.

Julie at Two Chiefs.
I still don't have the wind to sprint the length of Heartbreak Ridge.
But the ascent is no longer hugely difficult for me either.
Of course Julie just zooms right up it.

I'm still getting used to this little Nikon P7100 which is a lot less "point and
shoot" as compared to my big Nikon D7000. Here's a view of the two chiefs from the
top of Table Mountain. It's very hazy and foggy down below...

Julie's happy we made it to the top again.
Me too! :)

The top of Table Mountain is pretty flat, hence it's name. There is a not-well-known
(by tourists) spur that heads West to several nice viewpoints. There is supposed
to be a trail leading down to the West kiosk that we've never been able to find.
We've run into a few others who had to double back when they were unable to find
it either. It was out in that somewhat remote area that we saw these fresh bear
tracks. Looked like an adolescent size bear... not a big honker like we saw out
in Swale Canyon this past Fall. Since it looked like this bear was up there very
recently, we opted to not check to see where he was headed.....

Lots of cloud cover around a very frosty Mount Hood.

It was sunnier and a lot more clear over on the West side coming back down.
We actually cut our lunch short up top because the clouds were rolling in FAST
and we were starting to get wet from the mist being blown around by high winds.

It looks like there is a lot of snow East of Hood River.

A last look at Two Chiefs and Table Mountain.

Table is one of our favorite hikes. And you could hardly ask for a better day
considering that it's late December. The warm sun on our faces along the West descent
viewpoints was very pleasant.
