GETTING THERE: From Portland, drive east on I-84 to exit 35. Turn right
and drive west on the Historic Highway for 2 miles until you come to the Horsetail
Falls trailhead, which is on the right.

We were out this way recently to hike to The Rock of Ages.

Another magical falls. This time it's Triple Falls near the top of
Oneonta Creek.

Here's a picture of Julie taking a picture of me taking a picture of her taking a
picture of me. And a partridge in a pear tree... at the Horsetail Falls trailhead.

ABOVE: Horsetail Falls.
BELOW: Pony Falls.

There's no handrails out here....

There's some pretty good views where this kid took a header. It was overcast
and started to rain on our way back down... but still.. some nice views all the same.

The bridge at Oneonta Falls.

Take the trail to the left when you get to this sign. Right goes to
the Oneonta trailhead and parking lot.

Triple Falls.

We stopped at a nice little spot just up river from this bridge for lunch.
Right on the creek, very peaceful and NO PEOPLE!

A mile or so after this bridge, you'll come to a fork in the trail.
Continuing straight will eventually take you to Larch Mountain. The fork to the
left is the Horsetail Creek trail which ostensibly heads back to the Horsetail
Falls trailhead. This very quickly turned into a faint, very difficult to
follow trail that had "Getting rescued by Sheriff's Deputies" written all over
it. We opted to call it a hike and head back.

I don't usually do this but I already got the dirty look for taking this picture.
So since the fine's been paid, here's interesting looking pixie we saw on the way.
