In the middle of nowhere (literally)
Route 206 between Ruggs and Condon




Nearly home. Route 14, around Dallesport, Washington.
That's the Columbia River with Mount Hood in the distance




If you want to go on this run, here's the route:
East out of Portland on 26. 218 to Maupin
Bakeoven Road to Shaniko. 218 to Antelope, Clarno and Fossil
19 to Service Creek and Spray. Stay overnight at the River Bend Motel
back on 19 to Service Creek. 207 to Mitchell and the Painted Hills Unit
26 to Sheep Rock Unit. A few miles up 19 to the visitor centers
26 to Dayville, Mount Vernon and John Day. 395 down and back to Seneca.
The ride through the Strawberry Range looked interesting but we passed
Stay over in John Day. There's lots of motels there.
Back out 26 to Mount Vernon
395 to Lone Creek. 402 to Kimberly. 19 to Spray. 207 to Ruggs.
206 to Condon and Biggs. Cross the river and 14 back to Portland.
No problems finding gas although you do need to plan ahead.
This is a *VERY* scenic ride so bring your camera!
